Oscar has a new friend!
Meet Alan the Lion. He plays saxophone in a jazz band. He likes to listen to indie and rock music on his iPod – he also taps his foot to ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’.
It only took me an afternoon to hook up Alan’s body, however, his mane took all evening (just finished it around midnight last night!), but I do love his mane! If you look closely at his tail you can see a small tuft of hair there too 🙂
Now that I have made two of these cute little amigurumi animals, I decided to browse (!) eBay for some safety eyes. Managed to order quite a few pairs for only £2…. bargain! So, watch this space for more of these little cuties!
Now a quick update on my Morocco inspired blanket – have roughly planned out how many granny squares I need of each of the three different designs I am doing and all the times are nicely weaved in on the ones I have done already – think I have around 30 or so done. Still a way to go though! Must get my hook on 🙂
Hope you are all enjoying the weather

This is how far I have got with the hippy cushion I am making. Still have a couple more rounds to do on this side – then its making another identical side after that. Realised the other day that I do not have a round cushion pad – shopping on eBay it is then! 🙂
I have enjoyed making this so far as it grows quite quickly and only really uses treble stitch as the main stitch. Means I can sit and crochet whilst watching TV without having to keep looking at the pattern. Think I might make another one, but this time in colours that go with brown – have a few ‘chocolate brown’ furnishings in the house. Perhaps oranges, creams and browns…Hmm must be good whilst on eBay! Hee hee.

Been looking through this lovely Thomas the Tank Engine Cross Stitch book today. It’s quite an old book but picked it up off eBay quite cheaply. Seeing as both me and PR have each a nephew that love Thomas, I just couldn’t resist this book.
Both nephews will be 2 next month so have been looking through this book for inspiration. They both already have quite a lot of Thomas related things, so I have decided on a smallish design that I shall cross stitch and probably make into a birthday card.
There are lots of designs for each character but I just had to choose a Thomas one! Obviously 🙂
Might find a nice alphabet design so that I can cross stitch their names etc on the design too.
Started cross stitching one last night. Will post photos soon 🙂
Choo Choo Thomas!
