First things first…. I must apologise for not blogging for ages! And it really has been ages 😦
The reason for this is not because I haven’t been crafting, its because life has got in the way a lot. We are currently in the process of packing all our belongings up ready for the move to our very first house next friday. Very excited about owning our own home but equally stressed out about it – just wish I could click my fingers and it would all be moved over – somehow do not think that will happen 😦
Still yet to pack away the craft supplies – I’m determined to leave it to the last minute (because you never know when you might get a few spare minutes to do a bit more crocheting etc!) 🙂
As well as putting our lives into boxes, we have also been busy with wedding plans. Which are coming along nicely now (was not particularly organised to start with!) Invites have now been sent out – just waiting on RSVP’s so that we can organise the seating plan – which I already know will not be an easy task.
The above picture shows a cross stitch card that I did for my Nan’s birthday – stitched it up at pretty much the last minute (good job I have kept a lot of the free kits that I got with magazines!!). It is a Kate Knight design which I am pretty sure it came free with a Cross Stitch Crazy magazine.
I have also been crocheting (still massively addicted to it :)). However, I forgot to take photos of a couple of things I hooked up before I gave them away – one being a three eyed alien toy and the other being a bunny rabbit complete with a pompom tail (first time I have ever made a pompom – took a while but turned out much better than I expected).
I did, however, remember to take a photo of one of the things I crocheted up which is for a new baby that is due to arrive soon……
I used a pattern that ‘HodgePodge Crochet’ posted a while back – it is called Baby’s First Bunny and you can find the post here. I bookmarked it ages ago because I thought it was so cute but did not have a reason to crochet it…..until now! It was so very easy and quick to crochet – the instructions are very easy to follow, will definitely be making more when the time comes 🙂
I am hoping to blog again before the big move happens (and also before the internet gets turned off – will be a few weeks without it 😦 how will I survive not being able to look at my favourite crochet blogs – oh yeah, I know, I have the wordpress app on my iPhone, no excuse to be moody then 🙂 🙂
Ta Ta For Now…..

I searched for quite a while for a crochet pattern of peppa pig, but could only really find a knitting pattern. Since my knitting skills are not quite as good (or as quick) as my crochet skills, and I did not have the time to try and convert the knitting pattern to crochet….. I decided to make it on my own 🙂
And here she is! I am really pleased with how it turned out. Think I will have to make her brother George too!
My little nephew absolutely adores watching Peppa…. ‘more peppa’ he keeps saying 🙂 So this is for him. I hope he likes it as much as I do!
When searching online for crochet patterns, I get a little miffed when I see lots of toys for kids which are absolutely amazing and ones that I know my nephew and PR’s nephews would love, yet they are knitting ones only. Must try and convert them to crochet I think. Fireman Sam and Postman Pat are the top two next to try and crochet. Wish me luck 🙂

Meet Oscar the baby Panda! Oscar doesn’t like to eat bamboo – instead he loves popcorn! His other hobbies include chatting on Facebook and playing online poker 🙂
I made little Oscar for my other half as he likes pandas! Unfortunately I don’t have any safety eyes so instead I did a group of French knots with 2 strands of embroidery thread. The black and white parts of his eyes and nose are made from felt and since Oscar is a boy, I had to have a blue ribbon for him. I also decided to make a little name tag for him from blue card – can’t have people forgetting his name can we?
I wonder who else will accompany Oscar – he’s a bit lonely at the moment I think – plus he can’t spend all his time and money on Poker! Naughty little Oscar 🙂
Hope you like him as much as I do!

I had a small amount of purple yarn left so decided to make something small and quick…. and this is what I came up with! A crochet headband/ear warmer. 🙂 However, it’s not really appropriate at the moment what with the lovely weather we are having! Oh well……
As you can see from one of the above photo’s, I have added two buttonholes to one end of the headband and then attached a button to the other – so that the headband can be pulled tighter if wanted. I crocheted the flower very similar to that of the blooming flower I did for my gadget cozy previously, except the centre of the flower is slightly different. When I attached the flower and put the headband on, I realised I had sewn the flower a bit too close to the centre of it – so I think I will remove the flower and attach closer to the side of the band.
This headband took approximately 3 hours to crochet including the flower (whilst watching TV so was probably less really), and about 10 minutes to sew flower/button and weave in the ends.
I’ve managed to use up one of my purple yarns, however I do have another – well, purple is my favourite colour after all 🙂
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and hopefully the weather stays nice for us in England. Off to a wedding fayre on Sunday – slightly excited already!!! Hehe

p.s First post with a glimpse of me in it! Bleurgh 🙂
I’m coming to the end of a smaller crochet project and so I am thinking about what I want to do next! 🙂
So, first up is this cute crochet flower purse. Been wanting to crochet a little purse to go with the bag I made earlier. Would probably use similar variegated wool to the bag so hopefully it would look OK.
Second up, is this lush stripey round cushion. I love it so much -so bright and funky! Would definitely make sure I have some brightly coloured yarn for this one.
Next up is this crochet hat – I really like it as it looks simple yet looks really cute too. Uses a few different stitches which I haven’t really done a lot of so will be quite exciting to do this one. Think it would make a lovely present to someone too.
Last, but by no means least, is a crochet granny blanket. I love granny blankets so much and really want to make one! Would try and make my own version of this granny blanket with different colours etc. Would not be a quick project but I know it would be a much loved and much used item!
Hmmmm, decisions, decisions! What do you think? Love one in particular? Let me know! 🙂
Still have my huge cross stitch project which I have probably spent 8 hours on and it still looks like I have done hardly any! Must take photos of the progress – think that will help. I’ve also been doing smaller cross stitch projects (one being Thomas the Tank Engine which I posted earlier) and another couple that are a secret at the moment! Shhh! Will post them soon don’t worry 🙂
Will also post my current crochet project when I have finished it – just needs some finishing touches.
Might be back later, but have a great day!

Here is the finished project that I posted about earlier. So did you guess right?
Very cute little flowery slippers 🙂
Had to completely re-do the one slipper as I forgot to crochet into the back post only which helps make the sides of the slipper more defined. (only realised when I had nearly finished the thing!)
All around the top edge are chain spaces which I may thread some ribbon through and tie at the back of the slipper – think it might look cute. Better dig out my ribbon stash 🙂 Could also put a button in the middle of each flower – what do you think?

Wow! It has been a while since I have blogged hasn’t it?!
Now that it is a new year, time for new projects I think. My crochet bag is coming along quite well now ( had a minor mishap with some lost stitches so did have to unravel quite a bit – will upload a more recent photo soon of my progress!).
Also I want to start a very big cross stitch project which is of an African theme – surprisingly it is going to be for me for a change! Although I do have some ideas for gifts for people this year too. 🙂
Will try and upload another tutorial soon – a slightly different project that is good for the environment yet useful and quirky at the same time – so keep checking back!
Now that Christmas is done and dusted, I can upload some pictures of the gifts I made, have a look and do let me know what you think 😀
Today has been a full day of cross stitching…. have major stitcher’s thumb right now!
Finished off the rest of my gift tags ready for wrapping presents. Have done no wrapping whatsoever yet so need to get cracking pretty soon.
Currently have one Christmas present yet to finish as I’m waiting on fabric coming from the US (thought I had enough fabric but clearly underestimated it and the only place I could find it was in the States 😦 ). Talk about cutting it fine eh?
So what do you think of my gift tags? Pretty cute I think. Glad they are finished though – the amount of fractionals and backstitch was starting to get to me and my thumb!
Found Dottie lying in the most peculiar place earlier – right in the middle of the kitchen diner completely sprawled out. She’s so funny:) Both Dottie and Lillie are going completely mental at the moment because other half has got the laser pointer out which they love trying to catch. Isn’t she cute……
Apologies for blurry photo ( I may be good at crafty stuff, but photography definitely not!) 😀
Just finished making two of my cross stitch gift tags, have not done cross stitch for a while now so thought it was time to go back to my favourite stitchy craft for a bit. Have a huge cross stitch project to start after the new year which I cannot wait to get my teeth into but daunts me at the same time as its the biggest I will have done to date. Will keep you posted on it for sure!
Did these quick gift tags which came as a free gift from one of my many many cross stitch magazines I get, think they look so cute don’t you? I shall be rustling up the other 4 in the next few days (hopefully!) Miss C xx
Head over to the tutorial section to find out how to make this easy and very practical needle roll up. Perfect for organising all your needles, hooks etc, but you could adapt it to hold any other stitchy items! Get making now and give it to someone new to knitting/crochet at Christmas ( could even include a few needles and hooks to get them started). As usual, comments and questions happily accepted. Enjoy and have fun making!

So I have been crocheting into the small hours the last few nights, as I have been practising making some tree decorations. Really wish I had managed to make all my decorations this year but was just not organised enough! Maybe next year! 🙂

First of all I made these……
and then I started on these……. I love these and will be making more! Lovely little jackets for your baubles 😀
What do you think?….. Will you be making some? If so, let me know how you get on… would love to know!
I’m in the process of making some slightly different tree ornaments so watch this space! 🙂 Now got to get back to writing Christmas cards and doing our Save The Date cards (wedding….. Yay!) Happy Crocheting, Miss C xx
I have been busy perfecting the make up of my iPhone/iPod pouch.
Only took me two go’s which I think isn’t bad. First go wasn’t quite big enough, was too much of a tight fit for the iPhone. However, it is now done and so my tutorial is now available for you all to see! 🙂
Make it quick as it would make a lovely thoughtful Christmas gift for a tech savvy friend!
Head over to the tutorial menu for a step by step guide on how to make your very own pouch. Hope you enjoy it, Miss C xx
