Here is the progress of the second side of my crochet hippy cushion. Have not managed to do as much as I had wanted to but I do try and do a bit each day. Each round is just treble crochet stitches with some increasing in certain areas. Have managed to find a decent round cushion pad for it – think I may put it on our bed when finished.
Have just received some beautiful roses from my wonderful fiancé! They are in a lovely oval pot with butterflies sketched on the side – will upload a photo later.
After finishing my hippy cushion, I shall be making a start on a Mothers Day design for a card for my Mum; have also found a cool Formula One design from The World Of Cross Stitching magazine for my Dad. Is nice to see some designs for men as it is very hard to find decent ones that my Dad would like and he always takes an interest in my stitched designs. Have also had another order for the red Poppy cushion I made for my Nan – she wants another one to go on her other chair in her lounge – think they will look lovely as a pair.
This is the Poppy Cushion that I need to duplicate for my Nan.
Oh and my little 2 year old nephew loved his Thomas the Tank Engine cross stitch card – and the Fireman Sam top we brought him! He gets so excited at the sight of Thomas and Sam 🙂

Finished off my crochet bunting yesterday. Just had lots of tails to weave in and also make the chain to attach each flag to. It’s currently hanging in our open fireplace in the lounge – brightens up quite a dark area I have to say 🙂
The pattern is again from Nicki Trench’s Cute and Easy Crochet. However, I have changed the colours as they were pale pastel colours like pink and lilac – it is called ‘Knickerbocker Glory Bunting’ after all! The original colours didn’t really go with my living room so decided to do them mainly in red with white and petrol blue.
They are rated at beginner level because they really are quite simple to make. All it uses is chains, slip stitch, double and treble crochet, and decreasing two double crochets together to get the triangle shape. Only took about two evenings work in total. I can see me making these in the original colours for my sister in law who would love these – especially in pink!
So what do you think of my not-so knickerbocker glory bunting??!! 🙂
From my previous post called ‘What To Do Next’, I have been debating what to start – in all honestly I know I will end up doing them all as I love everything about each project. But…….I have chosen. Last night I started making the cushion – partly because that was the project PR said he liked the most (he never gets THAT interested in what I make! 🙂 ), but also because I loved the different colours in the circle effect (oh and because you can never have too many cushions)! Managed to do 6 rounds last night whilst watching a bit of TV and have no real plans today so I am hoping to get a lot more rounds done – maybe even finish one side of the cushion; hmmm fingers crossed.
Still have another Thomas the Tank Engine Cross Stitch to do for PR’s nephew, and I also have to finish my secret project in the next week – eek! Lots to do, so little time.
Now that I have realised how much I have to do, I had better dash
See you very soon

I’m coming to the end of a smaller crochet project and so I am thinking about what I want to do next! 🙂
So, first up is this cute crochet flower purse. Been wanting to crochet a little purse to go with the bag I made earlier. Would probably use similar variegated wool to the bag so hopefully it would look OK.
Second up, is this lush stripey round cushion. I love it so much -so bright and funky! Would definitely make sure I have some brightly coloured yarn for this one.
Next up is this crochet hat – I really like it as it looks simple yet looks really cute too. Uses a few different stitches which I haven’t really done a lot of so will be quite exciting to do this one. Think it would make a lovely present to someone too.
Last, but by no means least, is a crochet granny blanket. I love granny blankets so much and really want to make one! Would try and make my own version of this granny blanket with different colours etc. Would not be a quick project but I know it would be a much loved and much used item!
Hmmmm, decisions, decisions! What do you think? Love one in particular? Let me know! 🙂
Still have my huge cross stitch project which I have probably spent 8 hours on and it still looks like I have done hardly any! Must take photos of the progress – think that will help. I’ve also been doing smaller cross stitch projects (one being Thomas the Tank Engine which I posted earlier) and another couple that are a secret at the moment! Shhh! Will post them soon don’t worry 🙂
Will also post my current crochet project when I have finished it – just needs some finishing touches.
Might be back later, but have a great day!

Managed to finish one of these Thomas birthday cards today. Just need to iron the design and then tape inside the card. Part of me thinks the card is a bit too plain around the outside of the design but then I don’t want to add too much to take focus away from Thomas! 🙂 Seeing as he is the most important character in the two little boys lives at the moment.
Photos do not do the sparkly aida justice – it definitely adds a little special extra to the design and card 🙂
So one down, one more to go!

‘Cinders and Ashes, Thomas 🙂 ‘
This is what I have done so far. Was up quite late last night stitching and doing more today too. Its not a very big design – measures 6.5 x 8cm, so should be fairly quick to produce two in time for the birthdays. Think I might do Thomas’ mouth a bit different – not too keen on how it looks in the design.
Have you noticed the sparkly aida? I love it – have some of this one which is pale blue but also have pale green with sparkles – perfect for adding that little bit extra to a design. 🙂
I think Thomas is coming along nicely don’t you think?

Been looking through this lovely Thomas the Tank Engine Cross Stitch book today. It’s quite an old book but picked it up off eBay quite cheaply. Seeing as both me and PR have each a nephew that love Thomas, I just couldn’t resist this book.
Both nephews will be 2 next month so have been looking through this book for inspiration. They both already have quite a lot of Thomas related things, so I have decided on a smallish design that I shall cross stitch and probably make into a birthday card.
There are lots of designs for each character but I just had to choose a Thomas one! Obviously 🙂
Might find a nice alphabet design so that I can cross stitch their names etc on the design too.
Started cross stitching one last night. Will post photos soon 🙂
Choo Choo Thomas!
